BOUCAN
ODD ANALOG NOISE GENERATOR / WAVESHAPER / EQ / DISTORTION
BOUCAN is an odd analog noise generator with special features like the possibility to behave as a tonal equalizer, a waveshaper, a distortion and even as a filter just to name a few of its secret functions.
BOUCAN is Equipped with 2 channels with their own controls and outputs, with the addition of 3 types of fixed noise outputs, the classics WHITE, PINK and a homemade special one: FIRE !
The COLORED NOISE channel is a mix of different classic colored noise with some nuance while the ROCKET ENGINE and HURRICANE cover the heavy and unusual territory.
Both channels have independent control over its output level and its morphing capability represented by the top “MULTI FUNCTION KNOBS” that can be voltage controlled.
The amplitude of both channels can be changed at the same time using the “NOISE LEVEL” knob which represents the amount of noise you are injecting in the whole circuit. Furthermore, you can plug any kind of external sources to the direct central INPUT and blend it with the internal noise circuit, or simply switch off all the noise and use BOUCAN as an effect unit with pleasing and different results at every output !
Now it’s time to…MAKE SOME NOISE ! with some BBBRRRZZZ on top !

CONTROLS :
-
MULTI FUNCTION KNOBS :
The main function of these knobs is to alter the tone of their respective channels. However, they can also serve as tone filters, adjust distortion depth, and more, depending on how you configure the module.
-
COLORED NOISE :
Directly connected to “OUT COLORED”, you can morph between different types of classic colored noise to taste, from dark to “blurry” to bright ! A perfect starting point to build any type of percussion.
If used with an external audio source, it becomes a kind of dual tilt EQ with the center being the low cut position or a waveshaper, phase shifter, and not only for your sine waves, I'm just saying!
-
ROCKET ENGINE / HURRICANE :
This knob shares control with the separate noise outputs “ROCKET ENGINE” and “HURRICANE”
From low to medium to bright and airy.
ROCKET ENGINE : You can guess by its name but yeah it is like having a real rocket engine running at full power ! Good source for creating snares without tons of patching!
HURRICANE : Represents a more natural sounding noise that sounds like an extremely windy and rainy day, with distant thunder when fully turned to the left. The ideal noise source to add on the background of your atmospheric and ambient patches or even on its own.
If used with an external audio source, both channel can be used as High-Pass filters, the ROCKET ENGINE output being more on the hard clipping territory
-
LEVEL :
Adjust the output level of its respective channel, the left knob is for the “COLORED NOISE” and the right one for the “ROCKET ENGINE” ( HURRICANE, its amplitude is only connected to the “NOISE LEVEL” knob )
-
IN DISTORTION :
Adjust the amount of external signal you are injecting in the circuit until distortion.
-
NOISE LEVEL :
Adjust the amount of internal noise you are injecting in the circuit and the level of the WHITE, PINK, FIRE and HURRICANE outputs.
-
CV COLORED NOISE :
Attenuator for the IN CV input of the COLORED NOISE channel.
-
CV ROCKET ENGINE / HURRICANE :
Attenuator for the IN CV input of the ROCKET ENGINE / HURRICANE channel.
-
CONNECTIVITY :
INPUTS :
-
INPUT : Input for any kind of external signal. Connected to the IN DISTORTION knob.
-
IN CV COLORED NOISE : CV input for controlling the COLORED NOISE.
-
IN CV CV ROCKET ENGINE : CV input for controlling the CV ROCKET ENGINE / HURRICANE.
OUTPUTS :
-
COLORED NOISE : Output of the COLORED NOISE channel.
-
ROCKET ENGINE / HURRICANE : Output of the ROCKET ENGINE channel.
-
WHITE : Output for the white noise
-
PINK : Output for the pink noise
-
FIRE : Output for the fire
-
HURRICANE : You really read that far ? Ok so this is the output for…the ? You a genius so you know <3
